Preheating in Generalized Einstein Theories
One of the most important epochs in the history of inflationary Universe is the transition from almost De Sitter expansion to the radiation dominated universe. Until few years ago proper understanding of this phenomena was not well established. Recent development in the theory of resonant particle creation of bosons [1] as well as fermions [2] due to coherent oscillations of the Bose-condensate...
متن کاملPrimordial spectral indices from generalized Einstein theories.
Primordial spectral indices are calculated to second order in slow-roll parameters for three closely-related models of inflation, all of which contain a scalar field non-minimally coupled to the Ricci curvature scalar. In most cases, ns may be written as a function of the nonminimal curvature coupling strength ξ alone, with ns(ξ) ≤ 1, although the constraints on ξ differ greatly between ‘new in...
متن کاملGauge-invariant Cosmological Perturbations in Generalized Einstein Theories
Using the covariant approach and conformal transformations, we present a gauge-invariant formalism for cosmological perturbations in generalized Einstein theories (GETs), including the Brans-Dicke theory, theories with a non-minimally coupled scalar field and certain curvature-squared theories. We find an enhancement in the growth rate of density perturbations in the Brans-Dicke theory, and dis...
متن کاملBubble dynamics in DNA
The formation of local denaturation zones (bubbles) in double-stranded DNA is an important example for conformational changes of biological macromolecules. We study the dynamics of bubble formation in terms of a Fokker-Planck equation for the probability density to find a bubble of size n base pairs at time t, on the basis of the free energy in the Poland-Scheraga model. Characteristic bubble c...
متن کاملNew Bubble Decays In Kaluza-Klein Theories
We describe new bubble decays in pureD+1 dimensional Einstein theory with two compact directions. The instanton solution is constructed by analytic continuation of the Kaluza-Klein electrically charged black hole solution. We show that the instanton describes the decay of a Kaluza-Klein vacuum MD−1 × T 2 with a non-vanishing torus tilt parameter. The decay is produced by the creation of a bubbl...
